7 Skincare products you don’t need
Skincare is selfcare and the skincare world is big. When we look for skincare products, there are many brands, many products to choose from. We sometimes do not know what to buy, what is best for our skin because there are so many options. New brands are coming up with their new products and we continued to get confused about our choices. Yes, we have many options which is good in a way but we also need to know what type of skincare products you don’t need.
Now let us talk about the 7 skincare products you don’t need.
1. Scrubs
Scrubbing or physical exfoliation can be used to get rid of the dead skin cells that build up on the skin and by doing that we get the smoother, softer skin, but is it the right way to get smoother skin? Instead of exfoliation it gives you small tears or scratch on the skin which finally leads to scarring of the skin. If you are using it on acne prone skin or sensitive skin, there is higher chance of increasing acne, redness, inflammation, or irritation to the skin which will lead to hyperpigmentation, skin darkening. However, if you really want the scrubbing experience and looking for a gentle yet effective scrub, then the ingredients that you can look for are jojoba esters, rice, almond. But overall you don’t need scrubs, if you want to exfoliate look for chemical exfoliation. 2. Pore strips
Are pore strips really worth it? absolutely no. Pore strips are used to remove blackheads, whiteheads, dead skin. They don’t work most of the time and you may be over exfoliating the skin. So, you don’t need them. There are better ways to remove blackheads, whiteheads, dead skin. You can go for ahas and bhas.
3. Facial rollers
Facial rollers are used for face massage and to help with puffiness of the face. But you can always use your hands to massage your face. You do not need any fancy facial rollers for that.
4. Eye creams
Eye creams are nothing but moisturizers. When you look at the ingredient list of eye creams it is same as your moisturizer. So, the moisturizer that you use can also be applied under your eye. You do not need to spend some extra bucks for your eye cream separately.
5. Toners
Toners are used as a first step of your skincare routine. It is said to prepare your skin for the next step and it helps to penetrate your serums more effectively. It is also said to used to minimize pores. But you should know that you don’t need toners to do that. When you clean your face, your face is ready for skincare products. You can apply your serums as a first step. It is as good as applying toners before.
6. Sheet masks
Sheet masks give you the extra boost of hydration. You apply it for 10-15 minutes and throw it away. So, is it really that good? Sometimes yes, when you are going to a party or its your wedding day you can use sheet masks to give a hydration boost and to get a instant plump skin. But you don’t need it to use daily or twice a week or thrice a week. You have your serums, moisturizers to do that. One of the many reasons of not using a sheet mask is also it is not environment friendly. You use it once and throw it away.
7. Expensive skincare
Sometimes we think only expensive skincare products work in our skin and the rest do not. Well, let me tell you that is not the case, not every expensive product is worth your money. You can always do your skincare in your budget. There are many brands out there which are budget friendly and give you the same results as the expensive one.
