Day skincare vs Night skincare
How is your day skincare routine different than night skincare routine? well your day skincare is more about protecting your skin and your night skincare routine is about healing your skin. There are some products which works best at night and some products works well in daytime.
Day skincare
Day skincare routine is simple. You do not need a lot of products in the daytime.
Step 1: Cleansing
Our skin tends to become oily when we wake up in the morning. So, the first step of morning skincare should be washing your face. You can use a gentle cleanser. For the dry skin types, you can skip the gentle cleanser. You can wash your face with normal water. That will be enough.
Step 2: serum
After washing your face it is time to apply your serum. You can use serum which are hydrating for your skin like hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin c serum, glycerin.
Step 3: Moisturizer
We tend to go outside at the daytime, we sweat a lot and too much product may feel heavy on the skin. So, use a light weight moisturizer.
Step 4: SPF
This is the most important step of daytime skincare routine. Apply your sunscreen 30 minutes before you go outside.
Night skincare
Nighttime skincare is for healing you skin from all the damages from pollution, uv rays.
Step 1: cleansing
You need to wash your face properly to get rid of all the dirt and the sunscreen from your face. You should double cleanse to make sure your skin is properly clean for the next step.
Step 2: Mask
Masks give you the relaxing spa feeling after a long day. You just have to leave it on and relax for 10-20 minutes. Then wash your face and go to next step.
Step 3: Exfoliation
Exfoliation helps with blackheads, pigmentation, hydration, smoothing out of the skin, acne, damaged skin barrier etc. You can use serums which has AHAs, BHAs in it. AHAs works well with hyperpigmentation, acne scars, sun damage and BHAs are for blackheads, acne, to reduce oil production. So you can choose accordingly as per your requirement or skin condition. Step 4: Retinoids/Retinol
Retinoids has anti-aging benefits, it reduces fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation. It boost collagen production, repair tissue. You should use retinoids at night time only. Retinol makes your skin photo sensitive, so it is important to use sunscreen in daytime. Use it on a dry skin and follow it with a thick moisturizer. Do not use retinols and exfoliants together.
Step 5: Moisturizer
Moisture your skin in the last step to prevent skin dryness. Moisturizer is needed for every skin type, even when you have oily skin you should be using a moisturizer.
