Face rollers & Gua sha 101

Face rollers and Gua sha are face massaging tools. They are made of different types of stones like Jade, Rose quartz, Black Obsidian, Opalite, Amethyst. These stones are used to reduce face puffiness, eye puffiness, massaging for circulation. There are some benefits of using them. Let us now discuss about the benefits and why do we need face rollers and Gua sha.

Face rollers and Gua sha both works in similar ways but they just look different.

How to use face rollers?

Use your favorite serum and use the face roller to gently massage your face. You should not just rub the face roller all over the face. There are some techniques of Face roller and Gua sha as in how to massage your face with it so that you get maximum benefits. We all have busy schedule and we do not really have time to do extra in our skincare routine but here is the catch. You do not have spend a lot of your time on this because it will only take 2-3 minutes.

So let’s get started with the steps for face rollers.

#Step 1: Clean your face and also the face roller.

#Step 2: Apply your serum. What you can do in this step is you can also apply your moisturizer or face mask before using the face roller. That will also work.

#Step 3: Take the bigger side of the roller and roll from you chin towards the ear in upward direction.

#Step 4: For the middle portion of your forehead use upward motion and the for the side portion use it from middle towards the ear. Do it on both the sides

#Step 5: For the next step, take the smaller part of the roller and roll from inner eyes towards the outer corner.

#Step 6: Use the smaller part and then roll it over the jawline bone.

#Step 7: Always clean the roller.

Now let’s get started with the steps to use Gua sha

#Step 1: Clean your face and neck because you should always clean your face before massaging. Apply serum or moisturizer or face mask which ever you want.

#Step 2: Massage your shoulders and neck.

#Step 3: For the jawline hold the gua sha like this in the picture below and swipe it in the upward direction.

#Step 4: For the face, Use this side of the gua sha as you can see in the picture below. So swipe it from the chin towards the ear. Do it on both the sides for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5: It is the same step as the face roller. So, for the middle portion of your forehead use upward motion and the for the side portion use it from middle towards the ear.

#Step 6: Massage your eyebrows and cheekbones.

#Step 7: Wash your gua sha.

So now you know how to use gua sha and face rollers. The steps are very easy still if you have any problem understanding then there are many videos on how to use face rollers and Gua sha.

Is it necessary to use?

No it’s not necessary to use it. You can always use your hands to massage the face. You can also use spoon in that matter. Put the spoon in the freezer overnight and somehow you get same benefits from it.

When we see people or celebrities are using them we do get the feeling of having them in our collection. Because having face roller and Gua sha does feel fancy. There is nothing wrong to feel a little bit fancy, right?
